Due to a surge in cases during the month of May, the government has issued a new temporary closure of schools and businesses. During the month of May, there was a surge in COVID-19 cases in Uganda. This prompted the government to quickly institute a temporary 42 day closure of schools, as well as closing of many businesses, markets, gatherings, as well as restricted travel in the country. This comes right after most of our grade levels successfully opened last month after being shut down since March, 2020. According to our school’s Director of Studies, the school administration has already responded by beginning to re-implement the e-class program put in place at the beginning of the lockdown.
Keeping our students safe and continuing to learn are our top priorities. We will update you on the impact of the lockdown and the plan for re-opening the schools.
